And this is the final product
Obviously I realised only halfway through that I had no string with which to secure both ends of the bolstercase. Which of course meant cutting the seam off the remainder of the flatsheet. Thank goodness someone stitched THAT properly.

Hi, where are you living?
I live in Vancouver where bolsters can only be found in Asians stores in the largely-Chinese township of Richmond. But elsewhere, as in Walmart, they do have ‘body-pillows’–which is about the size of 2 pillows joined end-to-end!
One of the bolster cases which I brought from Singapore got a bit tattered, so I improvised using a body-pillow-case; this turns out too long, but I just make a knot with the open end and tadah!!! It fits just nice, with minimum effort… :-)
I train my youngest son not to use bolsters–just like his white friends, I tell him–so that he won’t grow up with ‘bolster-anxiety’… haha!!
YY.
Hey YY, I’m in Australia =)
I didn’t think I was that dependent on my bolster, but man…waking up in a strange environment got me regressing haha
Never grew up with soft toys so I wouldn’t really understand, but I’ve seen quite a number of white kids run around clutching their soft toys, so I’m guessing those soft toys take the place of bolsters…At least a bolster isn’t so portable! hehh
